Help Us Celebrate the Close of this Historic Project!

In 2013, the Louisiana State Museum, supported by the Louisiana Museum Foundation, started to digitize the Colonial Documents. These documents, consisting of the the French Superior Council (1714-1769) and Spanish Judicial records (1769-1803),  tell thousands of individual stories which, taken together, document the daily lives of Louisiana's first permanent European and African inhabitants
and are a treasure-trove of information for students of Louisiana's colonial period and the Atlantic World.

On June 30, we Finished the Project!

As a small thank-you to all those that have supported this undertaking, a reception is being held at the Le Petite Theatre.

Tickets are Free, but registration is required.
