On Thursday, May 8, 2025, Gaffney performed a live painting at the opening of the Louisiana State Museum’s exhibition Pioneers of Women’s Carnival. This exhibition honors the trailblazing women who shaped the history of Mardi Gras, spotlighting influential all-female krewes such as Iris, founded in 1917 and now the oldest and largest women’s Carnival krewe, and Venus, the first women’s parading krewe established in 1940.
